Order your save the dates 8-10 months before the wedding, your invitation suite 4-5 months before (to mail 2-4 months out), and your day-of-pieces 6-8 weeks before. Here’s the full checklist, phase by phase.
Wedding stationery isn’t one order — it’s a sequence that unfolds across your whole engagement. Get the order right and everythimg arrives calm and on time. Get it wrong and you’re paying rush fees six weeks out. This is the timeline we walk every couple through.
10-12 months before - Foundation
Define your visual direction — palette, typography, monogram.
Send save the dates, especially for a destination wedding.
Reserve your designer; the best studios book out early.
4-6 months before - The Invitation suite
Design and proof your invitation, RSVP and detail cards.
Allow time for printing, finishing (foil, letterpress) and assembly.
Build your wedding website so it’s live when invitations mail.
2-4 months before - Mail the invitations
Mail 8-12 weeks out (6+ months for destination).
Set your RSVP deadline about 3-4 weeks before the day.
6-8 weeks before - Day-of pieces
Finalize numbers, then design menus, place cards and the seating chart.
Signage, table numbers, favors and any ceremony programs.
